Inside the forest

Bon Iver, former Kanye West collaborator, has just released this new video clip for his most controversial track yet, Beth/Rest.  The track is lifted from his latest album, one of 2011 highlights without a doubt. On this track he sounds mostly like a forgotten Peter Gabriel track from his mid 80′s phase. What’s your opinion, do you like this minimalistic 80′s throwback?

We love you anyway

We love Cee Lo! We seriously do. Everything he touches and does has a certain charm that we don’t see around a lot in today’s manufactured pop sphere.  So when he releases a new track from his latest album: The Lady Killer, we happily stand by him and shout: “Team Cee Lo!”

And if you haven’t done so yet, it’s never too late to grab the album from iMesh

Dancing for us

Posted by DJ • December 01, 2011 at 09:36 AM

Beyonce is getting all, like, Film Noir on us with this 50′s style black & white new video. Although it’s pretty safe to say that back in the 50′s, nobody really danced the way Beyonce does here, and that even if they did, they would have probably been hospitalized in a mental institution. We’ve come a long way, haven’t we?  Anyway, Dance For You is a new track that appears on the Deluxe edition of her latest album, 4, which just came out this week. Get it on iMesh.

Cam’ron is releasing a new album on December 16th and released this video: Bang Bang to promote the release.  There are some troubling images towards the end but it says “to be continued”, so we’re hoping for a happy ending…

Thicke as a Brick

We have missed Robin Thicke – the soulful crooner who seems to deserve greater success than he has enjoyed so far. Perhaps his new album Love After War will change all that and make Robin the superstar he should be.

Watch this new video for the title track, and immerse yourself in the lush production and Robin’s silky voice.

Hungry like the Wolf

Alabama’s own, Yelawolf, seems to be everywhere these days.  It’s therefore surprising that he is now releasing Radioactive- his first proper album on a major label.  The Video for the song is inspired by Ubisoft’s Driver San Francisco video game.  The music video was shot at several of San Francisco’s landmark locations.

Together Forever

Canadian hard rockers, Nickelback, are about to drop their new album Here and Now.  As the title of the album may suggest, the lead single When We Stand Together is all about the state of the world and how we should come together to overcome any obstacles. Or something.

Anyway, if you like watching bands playing on top of the mountains with a helicopter shooting them in wide rotating angles, this is the video for you!

Back in Black

It unbelievable, but over 40 years after this song was created, the pioneers of heavy metal and hard rock, Black Sabbath are reuniting their original line up, Ozzy Osborne included… There are even talks of a new studio album, produced by Rick Rubin. We guess we will have to wait and see on this one though…

Hyper Lynch

Posted by DJ • November 19, 2011 at 02:19 PM

David Lynch is well known for his film work:  from the seminal Blue Velvet and Wild at Heart, through Lost Highway and Mulholland Drive, and of course to the legendary TV series Twin Peaks.  Music was always an important aspect in Lynch’s work, and he was very involved in the soundtracks, but it still comes as a surprise that the film director has decided to release a solo album only now, way into his 62nd year (!).

His album, which also features Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s, has all the typical Lynch signatures: It’s dark and twisted, mysterious, and marries tradition to a futuristic vision.

Here’s the first single of the album, the untypical poppy Good Day Today.
