One of America’s most influential musicians, has passed away tonight, leaving us shocked and sad. Gil Scott Heron died at the age of 62 years old. His music combined spoken word with jazz, funk, soul and folk. his words were always honest and sharp. He was a key influence on the young rap scene, and the Jazz-Funk scene of the 70′s.
