Today is Friday the 13th. Friday the 13th is considered to be the most unlucky day on the calendar and many fear the day. Some are so fearful that they spend the day safely at home, making it the perfect time to watch the top 13 scary Music videos. If you are brave enough we have the top scary music videos. You may want to keep the lights on for this one.
Warning: Many of these videos may be inappropriate for children
13. Starting out the list at number 13, we have “Alejandro” by Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga’s over the top style has sometimes been quite creepy, and her video for “Alejandro” has some pretty spooky parts.
12. Rihanna is usually known for her upbeat dance tracks and while you can certainly dance to “Disturbia”, the video might have you hiding in the corner. What would you really expect from a song about going out of your mind?
11. Evanescence’s “Going Under” shows lead singer Amy Lee haunted by some pretty demonic creatures. If that isn’t scary enough for you, she is also underwater with some enormous jellyfish.
10. The Kesha video for “Blow” features the scariest unicorns you will ever see. It also features James Van Der Beek, he thankfully adds some comedic relief to the video.
9. Nine Inch Nails’ “Closer” may be the creepiest love song of all time. Ok, maybe it isn’t exactly a love song, the video is definitely scary though.
8. Some of the scariest images from the Queens of the Stone Age video “Sick, Sick, Sick” are of food. Who knew artichokes could be so scary?
7. In the video for “Black Hole Sun” by Soundgarden, of all the scary parts of this video the Barbie dolls on the barbeque have always scared me the most.
6. Prodigy’s video for “Breathe” may have you checking under your bed for crocodiles. On the bright side compared to the apartment featured in the video, your home is probably looking a lot more luxurious than you once thought.
5. You could probably make a scariest music videos list made up exclusively of Tool videos, but you may not be able to sleep after watching all of them. Here is one of their scariest “Sober”.
4. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ video for “Last Dance with Mary Jane” shouldn’t really be scary. It is about Tom Petty romancing a beautiful blonde, not scary at all, except of course for the fact the beautiful blonde is a corpse.
3. I had a hard time choosing just one Marilyn Manson video. Every scene from the video for “Sweet Dreams” looks like something straight out of your worst nightmare. Except for the pig, the pig is actually adorable.
2. There is nothing scarier than feeling like there is someone watching you. With such a scary topic “Somebody’s Watching Me” was bound to end up on the list. The Rockwell song along with the original Michael Jackson vocals has a creepy video to match the scary song.
1. Michael Jackson definitely earned his place at the top of the list with “Thriller”. The video is a mini horror movie that spawned one of the most popular choreographed dance numbers of all time.
Are any of your scary music videos missing from the list?
