Three Days Grace
“We write about real things and I think people know that. Our fans know that we're not trying to be something that we're not.” Reminiscent of the Seattle music scene, Three Days Grace is a band of Canadian musicians that play hard rock music with a post grunge style.
The Days Before
In 1992, in Norwood, Ontario, Canada, a group of teenagers decided to form a classical rock band called Groundswell, which included Adam Gontier, Brad Walst, Neil Sanderson, Phil Crowe, and Joe Grant. For the next five years, they played at local talent shows and events in the area. But by 1997, the band had dwindled down to only three members. The band relocated to Toronto and changed their name to what we now know them as Three Days Grace. While performing in Toronto the band meet a producer by the name of Gavin Brown. With the help of Brown, Three Days Grace released a demo album and submitted a copy to EMI Music Publishing Canada. In 2003, they also added a second guitarist, Barry Stock, to the band and began playing under a new name with a new style. The later released their first single, “I Hate Everything About You,” which was a radio hit and soon after, the band signed a contract with Jive Records.
