The Veronicas are big celebrities in their own right down under, but the rest of the world is in their sights. With substance and style to boot, this up-and-coming sister act is one that's worth watching out for.

The Veronicas' Twin Talents

Born in Brisbane on Christmas Day 1984, Italian-Australian Jessica and Lisa Origliasso did most everything together. It's hardly surprising, as Jessica was delivered just a single minute before her twin. Television gave them their earliest stints in the entertainment biz, with bit parts in various local programs.

Music didn't come into the picture until Jessica was given a guitar on the twins' 18^th birthday. The two began to write songs and play around with tunes, which led to Teal, a band that they formed with two of their friends. Teal was able to release one single that managed to garner some airtime before the group fizzled out.

Lisa and Jessica, however, were far from done with music. In 2004, the two met Hayden Bell, music director of Australian music company Bell Hughes Music Group (BHMG). A few demos with Bell were all it took to get the twins a BHMG publishing deal. The demo recordings also netted them their first production deal, with Engine Room. A global dream team of producers then helped the two create a catalogue of some 50 songs. It was brought to American Warner Bros. Records, who saw the twins' potential.
