State of Oklahoma

Founded in the town of Shawnee Oklahoma, the group who call themselves Shiny Toy Guns have created a space in history for their style of electronica rock n’ roll. The group has created a fan base that follows them throughout the United States and affords the band popularity wherever they go. Their underground fame would eventually emerge to the mainstream music scene with the addition of Ursula Vari and would bring the band together to create numerous albums.

Early Career

The group would be founded less than a decade ago in 2002 by Jeremy Dawson and Chad Petree. After the group played on various projects, they would add the vocalist Ursula Vari to their ensemble and would begin works on many new projects. Vari would not stay with the group for very long and after she left they would add Carah Faye Charnow and drummer Mikey Martin. Shortly, the group would move to California to pursue their recording career and would release their first album called We are Pilots. The group would go on to tour in support of the album where they would further solidify their fan base and sell a few of their albums. The album would go through numerous revisions and finally be released for a third time in October of 2006 under the Universal Records label. The album would contain many singles that were enjoyed by their many fans with such titles as Le Disko, Rainy Monday, and You are the One.

Continued Career

Shiny Toy Guns would appear on the kid’s television show called Yo Gabba Gabba and would be consequently nominated for a Grammy Award although they would be beat out by The Chemical Brothers. There came some changes in the late summer and early fall of 2008 when it was announced that their long time lead vocalist Charnow and she would be replaced by the up and coming singer Sisely Treasure. Treasure would featured on their second album called Season of Poison. The album was released in 2008 and the first single was called Ricochet.

The single would be their first single to chart and would reach number seventeen on the alternative rock charts in the United States. Their second single titled Ghost Town and would also chart to number twenty six on the same chart. The group began work again in 2009 with works on their next album. Also during this time the group was working with Glen Hanson with their first video, which would be an animated video for the single Ghost Town. Shiny Toy Guns would also be looking for a few more lucrative opportunities and would go on to coer the song Major Tom, which would be released for a Lincoln car commercial and would also record another cover of Blue Oyster Cult’s Burnin’ For You that would also be a commercial for the Lincoln company.

Present

The band would start work on some of their previous albums and would release a remix for the album Girls Le Disko, which would be released on another record label called Ultra Records. They would also release a song as a free music download sponsored by Coca Cola called Rocketship 2010 for their many fans. It is rumored that the group will be releasing another LP sometime in the fall of 2010. This was seen as a comment to a fan on their Facebook page although nothing official has been announced as of yet. The group’s many fans can follow their up coming tour dates and appearances as well as any works that may be in progress.
