Rehab - The Dirty Ol' Southern Rockers

"I still have my ultimate plan, but it's not necessarily what needs to go down. These guys have their own thing they like to be doing right now. They've all helped out so much. I'm really lucky to be where I am" - Danny Alexander

The Rehab Formation

The band was started by Denny Campbell, Danny Alexander and Jason Brooks. In fact Jason Brooks and Danny Alexander had met at a Rehab center recovering from a drug and alcoholic problem. After about a year rehearsing and touring locally in Georgia they were able to secure a major label deal with Epic which was part of Sony Music.

In 2000, they released their first album titled "Southern Discomfort" was a play with words actually referring to the drink Southern Comfort. Complete with very cynical and morbid humor, the songwriting always made references to drugs or drinking. Brooks and Campbell used their first hand knowledge of their time when they were addicts. The humor is substitute for the reality and slow burn depression, isolation and self destruction of drug abuse. So even if the lyrics might have some references are funny it cannot hide the seriousness.

The album peaked at No. 22 on the US charts and spawned a single "Sitin' at the Bar" which would later be mixed for their famous single. Denny had quit before the release of the album so it was mostly Brooks and Danny. The band went on a lengthy tour to promote the album which saw them open for many rap rock artists all over the US

Graffiti to the World

The album "Graffiti to the World" was released in 2005 without much success, later re-released in 2008.

In 2005, Brooks hosted several MTV shows including Bustamoves in 2006. He also released his first solo album "Straight Outta Rehab".

It was their 2008 album, the re-release of Graffiti to the World which featured a remake of Sitin in the Bar titled the "Bartender Song" which was a huge hit. The single received phenomenal radio and video airplay. It peaked at No. 11 on the Modern Rock Tracks and was their first Top 50 on the US 100 charts. The fact that it also included Hank Williams Jr. it seemed to have crossed into Country charts as well peaking at No.60

Two more singles would follow "1980" and "Welcome Home" which failed to chart. Though they were highly appreciated among their hardcore fans.

It is the live shows and touring where the fans really come out to support the band. Their energetic and aggressive live shows have given the band the much deserved cult status. The band is currently on tour in 2010; playing all over the US. The entire "Graffiti to the World" album is also available on iTunes
