“Love is born with the pleasure of looking at each other, it is fed with the necessity of seeing each other, and it is concluded with the impossibility of separation.” – Please P

Pleasure P and his band mates released a hit single “On the Hotline”. Though the song debut at No.97 on the US charts it skyrocketed to No.12 in just one week. It was Pleasure P’s idea to sample the chorus on the Salt N’ Pepa song Let’s talk About Sex.

The Solo Career

Pleasure P all the while wanted to be a solo star and decided to leave Pretty Ricky. The group had two Gold records and No.1 US album. There has been a lot of speculation on his departure. The album received mostly positive reviews and it peaked at No.10 on the US Billboard charts. The album received 3 Grammy nominations for Best Contemporary RnB Album and the single “Under” for Best Male RnB performance and Best RnB song. This was unprecedented success which had eclipsed his ex-bands achievements. The single “Boyfriend#2” reached No.2 on the US RnB charts. However the album fell short of the Gold certification. In 2009 he also collaborated with Flo Rida for the single “Shone” which brought him widespread recognition.
