The Formation

The band was formed in Franklin, Tennessee in 2004 by Josh Farro, Zac Farro, Hayley Williams and Jeremy Davis. They started jamming together and performed various shows locally and in Nashville. They signed to record label Fueled by Ramen in 2005 after the CEO of the label saw them perform a few times.

After Davis left the band the remaining four started working on the new album writing the song “All We Know” which spoke about Davis’s departure. The band liked the direction of the single and went ahead with the same concept thus calling the first album “All We Know is Falling”. It was released in Aug of 2006 and the band immediately started promoting the album and played on the 2005 edition of the Warped Tour. In 2006, they took part in the Winter Go West Tour. They continued to tour throughout the year and played gigs in the UK and their second appearance on the Warped Tour in 2006. Further touring followed and they were voted the Best new Band by the British Rock magazine Kerrang! Despite the bands relentless touring the album did not manage to chart in the UK or the US.

The Paramore Riot!

The band started recording their follow-up in 2007 and released the album in June of that year. The album “Riot” was to become their biggest success reaching No.20 on the US charts largely due to the huge following they had established by relentless touring. The got great reviews for the album and it has sold 4 million copies worldwide. The ensuing tour was also a huge success with several high profile appearances and concerts.

They continued to tour the rest of 2007 and for most part of 2008.  After releasing a live album “The Final Riot” in Nov 2008, they took a brief break to go into the studio to record their third album. Released in Sept 2009, “Brand New Eyes” reached No. 2 on the US charts and No.1 in several European markets. The band has sold nearly 2 million copies worldwide.

They will play Wembley Stadium to support Green Day in 2010.
