The band has recorded four albums and headlined their concert tours.

They sold out a show at the iconic "Madison Square Gardens" in NYC. Simple lyrics themed around college life have given them the street credibility and a very accessible image. Their live shows are very basic and do not use any form of stage props or extravagance. The band has sold over 1.2 million albums mostly in the US market. The bands music is reggae based rock and often going into jamming sessions which includes covers of various artists

Band History

The band consists Richard On (guitar, backing vocals), Marc Roberge (vocals, guitar), Jerry DePizzo (saxophone, guitar, backing vocals), Chris Culos (drums, percussion) and Benj Gershman (bass guitar). The bands roots can be traced to the Ohio State University where they all met. The life at the University would form the lyrical theme to most of their songs. O.A.R is an acronym for Of A Revolution

The band started recording and releasing music online or on college networks. Despite no promotional or marketing plans the band they created massive interest on the Internet for the songs "City on Down", "Night Shift" and "Souls Aflame". Through sheer word of mouth the band received massive attention. This also prompted major labels approaching them for a recording contract but instead they signed with Lava Records a small Indie label. The band's third album "Risen" reached No. 1 on the Billboard Internet charts.

The Reluctant Superstars

O.A.R released their third album "Any Time Now" which was a live album released in 2002. In 2003 they returned with "In Between Now and Then". The album peaked at No. 54 on the US Billboard charts. This was their chart success at that time.

The band embarked on a lengthy tour playing mostly at college campuses and festivals. It kept growing their loyal fan base. In 20005 they released "Stories of a Stranger" which peaked at No.40 on the US Billboard charts. The band released several singles but it was "Love and Memories" which gave the band its first single to crack the US Hot 100 chart

In 2006 they continued to tour and sold out most of their concerts. The band continued to allow downloading of their music which they claim is the reason of the success. In 2008 they released the album "All Sides". The album received mixed reviews and the single "Shattered" became their biggest hit peaking at No. 36 on the US Hot 100 chart.

The band is set to release their forthcoming album in the summer of 2010.

• The band covered the Led Zeppelin song "Fool in the Rain" for the live performance at Charter One Pavilion in Chicago, the song was released as part of the live album titled Rain or Shine
• O.A.R performed for ABC Televisions reality TV program Extreme Makeover. The show saw them give a live street concert and signing the song "So Much"
• The band went on the USO tour in Kuwait and Iraq in Aug 2009. Playing in Tikrit and Baghdad
