Never Shout Never

In this world of hate there has to be a light. Be that light and spread some love. Maybe this day the youth can make a difference, No more hate!

A Solid Start

Chris Drew, born Chris Ingle, fronts the band, Never Shout Never!, which came together in 2007.  The band's first solid success, was the extended play recording, Yippee!, which was a bit of an internet sensation.  It was released on MySpace, and became a popular, sought-after download.  A year later, he was asked to perform on Total Requests Live on MTV, where he performed Bigcitydreams.  In 2008, Never Shout Never toured with Hellogoodbye and Ace Enders.

In 2008, NeverShoutNever became Ingle's alias. Spelled with no spaces between the words, it is meant to be the name of the singer, not his band.  Ingle stated in an interview that he will spell the name in one word when he is happy, and three words when he is not.  Warner Brothers Records continues to spell his name as three words.

A Serious Artist

In 2009, Never Shout Never recorded his next extended play record, Me and My Uke.  It was released on iTunes, and was available for free the first week; fans who downloaded the music were encouraged to make a donation to TOMS Shoes who donate shoes to children in need.  The EP included four songs, all performed with a ukelele.  The EP was lauded as a great musical stride above his previous endeavors, and the singles on the recording were described as an illustration of Never Shout Never's diversity.

Through most of 2009, Never Shout Never toured The Scene Aesthetic, The Honorary Title, and The Bigger Lights, among others.  He appeared as part of The Bamboozle Road Show, The Bamboozle Left, and The Bamboozle, which together constituted an aggressive national tour.  As part of the tour, Never Shout Never participated in a show called Hoodwink, where his portion of the concert was a cover on The Beatles.

Plans for the Future

After some consideration and indecision, Never Shout Never signed with Warner Brothers Records and released his first album, What is Love?, in January, 2010.  The album, containing only eight tracks, debuted at #24 on the Billboard Top 200, but dropped to #101 a week later.  Met with mixed reviews, the album pulls a solid fan base, and continues to enjoy on line popularity, with mp3 downloads being available through iTunes.

In 2009, Never Shout Never won a Breaking Woodie Award from MTV.  MTV states that this award is for artists who draw the most votes from the college student population.  He is currently on an American tour, promoting his new album.  The video for the single, Can't Stand It, can be viewed at his website.
