Miranda Lambert - Stepping forward boldly

Born on November 10, 1983 in Lindale, Texas Miranda Lambert is the daughter of two hard working private investigators in the Tyler Metropolitan area. Although truly a small town girl (Lindale's estimated population is slightly over 5,000) Miranda grew up close to the realities of humankind through her parent's avocation. While a high school student Miranda performed on the Johnny High Country Music Review in Arlington, Texas, sang in front of the house band at the famous Reo Palm Isle Ballroom in Longview, Texas and formed the Texas Pride Band which landed gigs in the local area. Playing the guitar and singing her own songs in an independently produced CD, Miranda Lambert, at eighteen she experienced some success when Somebody Else and Texas Pride registered on the Texas music charts but it was her participation in the Nashville Star TV show that landed her a Sony recording contract.

Authoring or collaborating on all but one of the tracts on her first album, Kerosene, which certified platinum, put Miranda in a unique position with the music studio administrators in 2005. The fiery lyrics set to edgy scores sent Me and Charlie Talking, Bring Me Down, and Kerosene to the Top 40 on the Billboard Country Singles charts making her one of Country Music's newest hot commodities. The Academy of Country Music awarded Lambert the Cover Girl Fresh Face of Country Music in 2005 and she was a nominee for the Horizon Award from the Country Music Association the same year.

Writing eight original songs of love gone wrong and retaliation on her second album, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Miranda proves she is a stellar songwriter once again in 2007. The album debuted at #1 on the Top Country Albums charts and has achieved gold status. Winning the Top New Female Vocalist Award at the 2007 Academy of Country Music Awards and racking up a Grammy nomination of Best Female Country Vocal Performance for her Kerosene single made 2007 a banner year for the 23 year old performer.

It just keeps getting greater

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend won the 2008 Academy of Country Music Album of the Year award. Miranda Lambert made the 2008 100 Greatest Women of Country Music list as well. Famous in a Small Town garnered a 2008 Grammy Awards nomination for Best Female Country Vocal Performance, a CMT Music Awards nomination for Female Video of the Year, and an ACM Single Record of the Year nomination. CMA and ACM nominations for Single of the Year and Single Record of the Year respectively were made for Gunpowder & Lead. For 2009 Miranda received a CMA nomination as Female Vocalist of the Year, a CMT Music Awards nomination for Female Video of the Year for the More Like Her video and two Academy of Country Music nominations; Top Female Vocalist and Single of the Year for Gunpowder & Lead.

On September 29, 2009 Miranda Lambert released her third album, Revolution, which also went to #1 on the Country Albums charts. Dead Flowers, the single she sang at the Academy of Country Music Awards on April 5^th is pending as a Grammy Awards nomination for Best Female Country Vocal Performance. The songwriter dynamo promises to have a long and bright future ahead.
