Master P - Self-made Man
"I have profited millions of dollars through explicit rap lyrics. I can honestly say that I was once part of the problem and now it's time to be part of the solution."

Ear for the Underground Sound
Born Percy Miller on April 29, 1969 in New Orleans Master P learned about southern street life. When Percy's mother relocated to Richmond, California he learned the west coast beat. While he completed his formal education Master P became a master of the underground music scene.
At twenty years of age, Master P received a $10,000 windfall that launched his business career. In 1989 No Limit record store was opened which became the name he also used for his record label. Under that label Mater P delivered violent, vulgar hardcore rap that appealed to the underground rap audience that loved the dark sounds. With the success of The Ghettos Tryin to Kill Me! and West Coast Bad Boyz (which included Rappin' 4-Tay and E-40 before they were well-known) in 1994 Master P moved his operations to New Orleans and focused on producing albums that appealed to the underground audience at a furious rate. Without radio air time or MTV exposure Tru - the group name for Master P and his brothers Sikk the Shocker and C-Murder - and his solo albums made their way to the Top Ten R&B charts in 1997 and went platinum.
Camera action
1997 was also the year Master P wrote, financed, produced, directed and starred in a screenplay thought to be a semi-autobiographical story about dirty southern street life in New Orleans titled I'm Bout It. The video sold over 300,000 copies in the first 30 days and topped Billboard's home video charts. After a second self produced film, I Got the Hook-Up, Master P was offered roles in several comedy, crime and drama TV shows and feature movies. Master P has acted in several movies/DVDs every year.
Hoop Shots
Sports have been important in Master P's life since his school days and in conjunction with his other endeavors he had a contract with the Charlotte Hornets for the 1998/1999 season, tried out for NBA's Toronto Raptors in 1999 as well as participating in CBA and ABA games. No Limit Sports clients included Ricky Williams, Ron Mercer and Ricky Davis.
