Los Tucanes de Tijuana was formed at a time when the romantic ballads were in style in the country of Mexico. Many were listening to the many artists of the time that would romanticize the accomplishments of the many drug lords of the day and would sing songs about their runs over the border. Although the government would go on to oppose these types of ballads, the people would demand them and the music would be played over radio waves throughout the country of Mexico and especially in the border town of Tijuana, where the group would originate from. The group was formed from members that came from Sinaloa Mexico, which consisted of Mario Quintero, Mario Moreno, Joel Higuera, Clemente Flores, and David Servin. The group would spend more than twelve years together playing their songs and delighting their many fans across the country of Mexico.
