Killer Mike
I learned that a lot of times, bein’ a boss, what satisfies you most is not necessarily the big wins, but the little lessons you learn, that you apply to make the big wins.
Early Years
Born Michael Render, Killer Mike got his start with an appearance on the Grammy-award winning song, The Whole World, on the album, Big Boi and Dr. Dre Present . . .Outkast. Killer Mike signed a contract with Grind Time Official through the SMC/Fontana Distribution. It was the beginning of Killer Mike's career, and he was building his association with other American rappers.
His first album, released in 2003, was titled Monster, debuted in no small part to the single, A.D.I.D.A.S., released prior to the album. A.D.I.D.A.S. featured Big Boi and Sleepy Brown. The single released upon release of the album, Akshon (Yeah!) included Outkast on guest vocals. It was later used on the soundtrack of the 2004 version of EA Games' Madden NFL. The inclusion on the video game gave Akshon (Yeah!) instant familiarity and doubled its air time.
The Height of His Career
Released in 2006, Killer Mike's second studio album, I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind, included the talents of S.L. Jones, Nario, Bigg Slimm, Da Bill Collector, and Rock D The Legend. Killer Mike had dubbed this crew the Grind Time Rag Gang. They appear again in his work at a later date. The album enjoyed moderate success. The single That's Life attacks public figures by name, such as Oprah Winfrey, George Bush, and Bill Cosby for not caring about the poverty-stricken population.

This lead to a long-time falling-out period with Big Boi. Killer Mike released his next album, I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind II. 8Ball and Ice Cube appeared on the album, among others.
Underground Atlanta was released in 2008, and I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind III is due out later this year.
