From the busy city of Oakland, California, Keyshia Cole would begin her music career at a very early age and would go on to delight fans of many ages with her distinct R&B style and well as hip hop influences. She would go on to leave her hometown in pursuit of her music career and would never look back as the winds of success would sweep her away

Career
Keyshia Cole would first move to Los Angeles in search of an education; however, she would be denied entry to Santa Monica College, which would prompt her to begin her career in music. She would release her first single in 2004 called Never that was actually for the promotion of the movie called Barber Shop 2: Back in Business. Although the single did not gain the attention of the charts, she would not be denied and would go on to produce her first album called The Way It Was that contained her first charted single I Changed My Mind. It would reach number seventy seven in the United States.
The album would make it to number six on the Billboard 200 and it would sell almost ninety thousand copies in its first week of release and would eventually be certified platinum. Her breakthrough single called Love would reach number nineteen on the Billboard Hot 100 in January of 2006. After the success of her singles, she did a short tour and went back in to the studio to work on her next album. Her next album would be titled Just Like You and would be released on September 25, of 2007.
The album Just Like You would debut at the number two position on the Billboard 200 and sell over two hundred and fifty thousand copies in its first week. It would eventually also be certified platinum. Her most successful single of the present was released on that album and was called Let It Go that would reach number seven on the United States charts.
Continued Success
After the release of her first two albums, Keyshia Cole would embark on a large tour called the I Am Music Tour that would also contain T-Pain, Lil’ Wayne, and Keri Hilson in December of 2008. Before this tour, she started work on her third album called A Different Me and would reach number two on the Billboard 200, selling over three hundred thousand copies in the first week. Although the album would go platinum, this is considered her most lease successful album as of yet. Her fourth studio album has began as a work in progress and supposed to be released on Valentine’s Day of 2010 but it has been delayed.
It has featured collaborators Missy Elliot and Kanye West and is rumored to be out soon.
