American Idol Journey
She used to sing from a very early life and was the beauty queen of her school. She worked as waitress and participated in beauty contests. She auditioned for American Idol in 2005. She advanced through to the next round on the strength of her first performance. Kellie Pickler advanced to the semi-finals of American Idol and reached the Top 12.
Kellie Pickler started getting a lot of attention for her good looks, southern charm and phenomenal signing voice. In fact Simon Cowell predicted that she would be in the Top 3. However, she was eliminated in the Top 6. But her amazing journey gave her major recognition in her home town.
She participated in the 2006 Idol Tour and also signed a recording deal with 19 Recording/BNA Recordings
The Solo Debut
Kellie Pickler was able to rope in some country music’s best sessions musicians to produce her first album. “Small Town Girl” was released in Oct 2006 and received major critical appraise. The album debut at No.1 on the Country charts and also broke into the Top 10 of the mainstream Billboard charts. The album featured the hit single “Red High Heels” which was an up tempo country song with rock guitar riffs. Her charming personality shines through the video. The single would go on to be certified Gold. Two more charting singles followed and the album has also been certified Gold.
She was awarded the Gold disc by Rosie O’’ Donnell on the TV show The View, an acknowledgement of her achievements. Her now infamous appearance on the “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader” only added to the small town girl charm.
The Sophomore
Kellie Pickler released her self-titled second album to which was well received and debut straight into the No.1 slot on the Country Music Charts. The album equaled the charting peak of her first effort on the mainstream US Billboard charts. The album featured her biggest hit “Best Days of Your Life” which was certified Gold.
A new album is due in 2010
