K-Ci & JoJo were born in Wingate , North Carolina to a family of gospel singers. Cedric K-Ci Hailey was born September 2, 1969, and his little brother Joel JoJo Hailey was born June 10, 1971. They grew up singing in church choirs throughout Charlotte , and toured the South with their father's gospel group called Little Cedric and The Hailey Singers.
