Timberlake would begin his music career by singing country music and would get his first appearance on the television show Star Search under the name Justin Randall but would gain more exposure when he joined the cast of The Mickey Mouse Club with pop starts such as Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.
Career in Music
After joining the cast of The Mickey Mouse Club, Justin Timberlake would go on to join what was then called a boy band under the name of N’ Sync. The two lead singers of the group were Timberlake and JC Chasez and would get their start in 1996 in Europe instead of the United States. Their release of the debut album was self titled N’ Sync and would sell over eleven million albums in the United States. The album would include many hit singles such as Tearin’ Up My Heart that would go on to chart in both the United States as well as Europe.
Also during this time, the group was engaged in a legal battle with their long time manager and would eventually split to sign with Jive Records. They would go on to release their next album called No Strings that would go on to sell over two million copies in the first week making it the number one selling album of all time.
