The Latin star that would be eventually known as Ivy Queen was born in the town of Anasco in the United States territory of Puerto Rico under the name of Martha Lyelisse Pesante. She would move to New York City as a child where she would experience the life inside the continental United States but also move back to her birthplace for about two years while she was a teenager. While back in Puerto Rico, she would hang out with then rapper Chu Chu Tren, whom she would collaborate and play with for a short time while she created her own style and gathered her musical influences to project her into the music community.
