I started when I was about 15, first at my late grandmother's house, I started making music with Impulse Tracker, a music making software that I got by chance. So, you got the Impulse Tracker, and started making trance music, why trance? It wasn't trance- I don't know what it was, Impulse's music, that's how it's called.
Getting Started
Infected Mushroom is a music group that specializes in trance music and electronic music. They were formed by the duo, Erez Eisen and Amit Duvdevani, also known as I. Zen and Duvdev. They are both from Haifa, in northern Israel. The two began playing together in 1998, releasing their first album in 1999. The Gathering is known as the album that introduced Israeli psytrance music to the mainstream. Their 2000 release, Classical Mushroom, reached even further and is possibly their best known work.
B.P. Empire, released in 2001, was met with commercial and critical success. However, their 2003 double album, Converting Vegetarians, confused fans, and even offended some. The first CD, titled The Trance Side, is dance music, much like their past albums. The second CD, titled The Other Side, is full of unusual, often dark, selections. Duvdev sings on one track, while up until then, all of their music had been instrumental. Their 2004 album, IM the Supervisor, was criticized as being their most commercial, but was also their best selling release.
Trying Out New Sounds
Infected Mushroom released two more albums in 2007 and 2009. The one aspect of their music that seems to be their strength and their downfall is their constant changing and experimental music; fans have been surprised over and over again, as the duo tries something new with each release.
In addition to their album releases, Infected Mushroom has made guest appearances and collaborated with thirty or more other artists, including Hardcore Blastoff, Space Mantra, and Isra-Aliens.
What's Next
