The Christian metal band called Haste The Day is a popular rock band that has taken their praise for Christianity to a new level. The band is from Indianapolis Indiana and has been pleasing Christian audiences with their metal grind sound over the last couple of years and has not intentions to stop. They have produced many albums and are constantly in the studio working on new material.
Career Start
Haste the Day got its first start on the record label called Solid State Records and they formed their hard metal ensemble in 2001. They have described themselves in numerous ways and do not simply categorize themselves as metal but also rock n’ roll as well. The group started with a number of members but has seen some come and go over the last couple of years such as Jimmy Ryan who was their lead vocalist. He departed from the band in November of 2005 to pursue his own career and would go on to sign with a record company called Tooth and Nail records.
He would perform his last show with the group in their start up and home town of Indianapolis in the year of 2005 in the month of December. This did not deter other members of the group and they would continue to tour. They would embark on a European tour with a band called The Juliana Theory. The new vocalist by the name of Stephen Keech, who was formerly with a Denver rock n’ roll Christian group called New Day Awakening, would become their official lead vocalist on February 23 of 2006.
New Releases
The group Haste The Day would release a DVD along with an album that was called Pressure the Hinges. The DVD documented many of their tours and their band in the early stages showing the hard work and dedication it takes to become an international band that creates a solid fan base. The DVD also has their most current music videos, one of which is called the Closest Thing To Closure. It also pays tribute to Jimmy Ryan and the group’s last show with their lead singer as well as Stephen Keech when he played on the Truth Tour with the band Bleeding Through.
The DVD shows a number of the general fun of touring and being on the road and features some things that the many fans of rock n’ roll don’t always get to see. The DVD was produced by the up and coming directing works of Full Lock Media. The group would go on to embark on a tour called 12 Days of Christmas with bands such as the likes of Calico System, Heavy Heavy Low Low and one other band called Flee the Seen.
After a short break the group would then begin touring another round with groups such as Autumn to Ashes and Maylene and the Sons of Disaster in which they have played numerous venues across the country bring their sound of Christian rock and metal to the delight of their many fans.
Present
Haste the Day would go back into the studio after so much heavy touring and would begin work on their next full length album called Dreamer. The album was released on October 14 of 2008. This album is said by critics to follow a much darker path, getting back to the roots of dark Christian metal. The guitar takes on an ominous sound and the vocals of Keech follow that style and manner. Many have said that this is the best album as of yet and shows the depth and talent of the Christian metal band.
Did You Know
The group’s name comes from a Christian hymn.
