The rapper that would be known to his many fans by the name of Gnarles Barkley was born in the southern city of Atlanta Georgia and would become a part of the alliance known as the Goodie Mob. This group would be a large aspect of what was known as the Dirty South movement in the early 1990's that would bring the mostly west coast and northern east coast rap scene into the southern states. He would begin his career as a solo artist in 1999 and would create a status known throughout the south and the United States as a whole.
