Tom and Mike Gossin were born in Utica, New York. They both took piano lessons starting at age 6, and Tom studied guitar. They moved to Nashville, Tennessee, and met Rachel Reinert on Myspace. She moved to Nashville, and they began performing together. They met Cheyenne Kimball at a night club, and she became their fourth member.

Gloriana

My parents were raised in the south and so I was influenced by a lot more traditional country, especially Patsy Cline. I grew up singing along to her. As I got older I kind of moved into that whole era of Shania Twain but the one common thing between the four of us is that we have a great love and respect for traditional country music.

The Start of Something Good

In 2008, the group sent a demo tape to Matt Serletic, of Emblem Records. They soon had a recording contract with Serletic and were ready to start recording. In 2009, Gloriana released their debut single, Wild at Heart, which became the highest selling country music debut single of 2009. The band was asked to join Taylor Swift on her Fearless Tour.

Quick Trip to the Top

In August of 2009, the band released their self-titled debut album. The album peaked at #2 on the Top Country Album charts, and at #3 on the Billboard 200. The single, Wild at Heart, peaked at #15. The band released videos for Wild at Heart, The Way It Goes, How Far Do You Wanna Go?, and the Christmas hymn, Silent Night. Gloriana won American Music Award's Breakthrough Artist of the Year in 2009. They were nominated for the Country Music Awards Group Video of the Year for Wild at Heart and the USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year for the same single. They won the Nationwide on Your Side Award.

A Bright Future

Gloriana has attracted instant attention and has earned the love of fans of all ages with their musical skills and their mix of traditional and contemporary country music. They will be touring with Taylor Swift throughout 2010. The band was asked to contribute a song to the Olympics soundtrack in the winter of 2010.

The band is currently nominated for Top New Vocal Group with the Academy of Country Music. This award is contingent on votes from fans. The home page at their website currently encourages visiting fans to vote and provides a link. While there is no projection date for a new album, Gloriana has released the single, The World is Ours Tonight, along with the video for the song. The mp3 is available for download.
