Eyes Set to Kill is an American Metalcore band from Phoenix, Arizona, started by sisters Alexia and Anissa Rodriguez.  The band name came from a poem Alexia wrote in high school about a determined criminal who was not giving up on his mission.  Generally, the phrase "when eyes set to kill" has been understood as a sign of determination in the stead of many obstacles and difficulties.  

The sound of Eyes Set to Kill is a blend of the emotionally driven music of Thursday and Thrice with hardcore elements similar to Walls of Jericho.  The combination of those two music types breeds a heavy and melodic sound that works well with the high vocals of Alexia Rodriguez.  

Though the band was started in 2004, there have been a lot of changes on stage.  There are five current band members (Alexia Rodriguez, Anissa Rodriguez, Brandon Anderson, Caleb Clifton and Greg Kerwin) as well as eight former members.  Two full-length albums have been released to date: Reach (2008) and The World Outside (2009); in addition, the band self-released their EP album, When the Silence is Broken the Night is Torn, in 2006.        

Reach worked its way up to #29 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart.  The biggest single from the album is also called Reach.  The song Darling was also released as a single from the album.  Eyes Set to Kill created Reach as a testament to the power of love, life and relationships for the individual.  Each track on the album addresses a different heartfelt issue pertaining to the lives of one or more band members, as well as the general audience.

The World Outside, released a year later, is an attempt to be darker yet still relevant to the struggles people go through.  Its main focus is the heart and mind of musician Alexia Rodriguez and the insecurities and frustrations she has had to put up with.  Heights is the lead single on the album, with The World Outside being the second and final single.  The album peaked at 9 on the Top Heatseekers chart, an improvement over Reach.

It was announced in July of 2009 that lead singer Alexia Rodriguez would be recording an Acoustic EP that would be Limited Edition and only available for purchase at Eyes Set to Kill's shows and concerts.
