From Across the Pond
Born in England on January 18, 1980, Estelle would begin her music career at a young age singing and dancing in the hearts and minds of family and friends. She would not stop at just that, and her career would take her throughout the world working with famous artists and eventually winning some of the highest honors and a musician, rapper, song writer, and producer.
Starting Up
Estelle got her first break into the pop charts with her hit single 1980, which would eventually win her a MOBO award under the category for Best Newcomer. With this single along with another titled Free, she would create music videos under the direction of Andy Hilton. With the release of her first album titled The 18th Day, Estelle would be cast in to the lime light of the UK as the album reached number thirty five on the UK Albums Charts.
Career
After her first tastes of success, Estelle began to work with many different people in the music industry and has collaborated on many different albums. The most successful collaboration was with the rapper Kayne West when they released the song American Boy. The song would go on to hit top ten charts throughout the world as well as the United States and Canada. The song would go on to be nominated for Best Song of the Year at the Grammy Awards and would go on to Rolling Stone’s list of top one hundred songs of 2008.
Her next album titled Shine would be released in 2008 and would reach many album charts across the globe with its best ranking of number six on the UK Album Charts. Estelle would go on to collaborate with rapper Busta Rhymes on a single called World Go Round, which would eventually be released on his album Back on My B.S.
Up and Coming
Estelle would eventually go back in to the studio working again on her solo career. Many hours of collaboration with the new and emerging artists had given her much to think about and many new ideas that she did not want to let go to waste. She released her third album called All of Me in August of 2009.
During this time she began to also get the notice of the many late night talk shows and would go on to appear on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien and performed the song Good Girls Go Bad. Another collaboration with the songwriter from America Robin Thicke, she co wrote the song Rolla Coasta, which would go on to appear on Thicke’s album titled Sex Therapy.
With the release of All of Me, Estelle released a video that many have considered both vocally artistic as well as artistic in style form the single Freak, which will also feature Kardinal Offishall. This video made its debut on her official Estelle web site. Some of her other music may be available on other internet web sites as a free music download or at minimum, internet screening.
Recent
The career of Estelle is just now beginning to gain steam as the music world has begun to latch on to the many different styles of the singer and song writer. With her methods that are like no other, many of her adoring fans cannot wait for her upcoming tours and special appearances. Estelle has established a fan base across the globe and many of those fans are from her birth country of the United Kingdom.
