The Enrique World
There was a time between 1999 to 2003 when you could switch on to a music television channel and not see an Enrique video. His style of Latino pop went a step further form the genres first major star Ricky Martin. While Ricky used his charm and dance music style to engross the audiences, in Enrique the genre found its brooding, sultry and sensual pop star. His music and rock star image has contributed to record sales of 60 million albums worldwide and hugely successful world tour!
The Family Heritage
Enrique Iglesias was born in Madrid to legendary Spanish singer Julio Iglesias. Enrique moved to live in Miami with his father after his parents divorced. He dropped out of Miami University to pursue his career in music. He recorded a demo using the name Enrique Martinez. It was his desire to make a name for himself and not use his father’s legacy. He would also go on major tours which include stops in stadiums and large arenas. He was already a major Latino star with massive fan following in the US
Crossover Success

The Slight Decline
Enrique released his third English language album “7” in 2003. Though the album lacked major hit singles, the album sold 3 million worldwide. The world tour was Enrique’s biggest playing South East Asian countries and even India.
His next release “Insomniac” in June 2007 received average reviews and despite selling well in new markets like Russia, the album could only peak outside the Top 15.
