The singer and songwriter known to the world as Duffy was born in the Llyn Peninsula of North Wales. She would move to Pembrokeshire when she was ten years old due to the divorce of her parents. It is said that her first music influence was the role of Whoopi Goldberg in the movie Sister Act. Beginning at the age of six years old, Duffy would carry a small notebook in which she would copy lyrics for ideas for songs. Although her talent was undeniable, she was asked to leave her school choir due to personality conflicts with other members.
