The group known to the heavy metal world as Dope was founded in the city of Chicago in 1997 by Edsel and Simon Dope, along with Tripp Eisen, Preston Nash, and Lanson Lang. The group is said to have been influenced by early 1990's industrial metal groups such as Nine Inch Nails and Ministry.
