Seattle Sound
The rock n’ roll Christian rock group who call themselves Demon Hunter was formed in the city of Seattle Washington. The band was originally formed as what is called a concept band. The group would tour around the Christian music scene for a while playing covers and music from their previous bands but would later form the group that is now Demon Hunter as a Christian rock ensemble. The group would release their first album in 2002.
First Start
The group would get its first start with the release of their first album that was self titled. The album would gain little acclaim in the Christian metal music genre although this was not a very popular music genre in general. After this first release, the group would embark on a tour in support of the album. They would then go back to the studio to release their second full length album called Summer of Darkness that would be released in May of 2004.
The album would start to gain Demon Hunter a small bit of success and they would go on to produce a video of the single Not Ready to Die. The video would be featured on the late night metal show called Headbanger’s Ball. The group would go on tour for many months to support the album as well as the video and began to gain a solid fan base in the metal rock music category. This was not enough and the group would go back into the studio in 2005 to produce yet another album.
Continued Success
The group released another album in 2005 called The Triptych. This album would go on to be their best of the time and would also take on of the singles off of the album and turn it into a music video. The song Undying would be made into a video by director Chris Sims who had previously directed and produced other videos by Christian Rock musicians. Their tour for support of the album would begin in 2006 where they would tour with other metal bands such as Zao, Becoming the Archetype, and many other groups that were up and comers of the day.
The group would then go on to release a DVD of their previous works that would contain a few more new songs as an incentive for their fans. The group’s lead, Ryan Clark, would be mentioned in an interview about Christian metal in December of 2006 with other Christian metal artists such as Spencer Chamberlain, and Tim Lambesis.
Present
Demon Hunter was not satisfied with their production to this point and would go back to the studio to release their fourth album titled Storm the Gates of Hell. This album was released in November of 2007 on Solid State Records. The group would also start appearing on Christian radio talk shows and Christian metal radio shows such as The Full Armor of God Broadcast.
The group would have another video to be previewed on the MTV show Headbanger’s Ball and would go on to tour under the tour name of Stronger than Hell. The many fans of Demon Hunter can visit their website for more information on the group. There also may be the possibility of free music downloads or at minimum internet screening of some of their music.
