Early Life and Child Prodigy

Demi Lovato was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. Her mom was in fact a cheer leader for the American Football Franchise in the city Dallas Cowboys. It was obvious from early childhood that Demi had quite a personality. She auditioned and got a part at age 5 for a show on Disney called "Barney and Friends". She also made friends with another co-star Selena Gomes. Demi Lovato all along would also practice her singing and take classes piano classes. One of Demi's traumatic experiences as a child was that she was victim of bullying from her seniors. It affected Demi so much that her mother decided on home school. During this time Demi also took guitar and drum lessons as well. She would later learn hip-hop dancing along with many of her friends.

Rising Star

By 2006 she was auditioning for television shows. She appeared on the Fox drama Prison Break and sitcom Just Jordan on Nickelodeon. But it was in Jan 2007 when she got her first big break as she appeared on the short series "As All the Bell Rings". The mini-series was a Disney Original Series. She played the role of Charlotte Adams which was the female lead in the first season. Growing in confidence, Demi auditioned for the new Disney Movie which would also star the hugely popular teen band Jonas Brothers.

Demi won the part as the female lead and began shooting for the movie. An important reason for her selection was the fact that her original composition was also featured on the Disney TV show. Her character in the TV show was phased our but not killed leaving room for a possible return. Demi began shooting with the Jonas Brothers and was released exclusively on the Disney Channel to an estimated 8.9 millions. This was her breakthrough performance and she became hugely popular among the Disney audiences. She also sang on four songs for the soundtrack of the movie including a duet with Joe Jonas.

The Love for Music

After the success of the movie, she went on to be the opening act for the Jonas Brother tour. In the year 2008, she released her first solo album "Don't Forget" which charted in the top 10. The album had 6 songs co-written by the Jonas Brothers; pop-rock sounds of fuzzy guitar work, melodic power pop. The music surely sounds like Jonas Brothers styled - ready to be played live! Peaking at No.2 the album came just behind Metallica's Death Magnetic. A busy 2008 saw her tour with Jonas Brothers and headline her own tour titled Demi Live! Warm Up Tour!

In 2009, she released her second album "Here We Again", a shift from her first album, was more introspective without quite being very personal. The album debut at no.1 on the US charts. The album has no connection with the Jonas Brothers and now includes songwriters like John Mayer. The US tour to promote the album in the summer of 2009 was quite successful.

Currently filming the second edition to Camp Rock and is rumored to record her next album shortly. Demi's well known love for metal music might lead to something quite interesting in her next album. She is has the lead role for the Disney sitcom Sonny with a Chance going into its second season. She is a unique talent had has the potential to become an international star.
