DJ Khaled - In the beginning
Born Khaled Khaled to Palestinian parents on November 26, 1975 in New Orleans, Louisiana DJ Khaled took on the name that declares what he does when he started working at his craft as an eighteen year old. Working as a sidekick on Luther Campbell's Friday night WEDR
The Luke Show in 1998 was the beginning of DJ Khaled's participation in live radio. Working with Campbell, who started as a promoter himself, may be when DJ Khaled became interested in producing for hip-hop artists. Khaled began working professionally for the Miami based radio station WEDR in 2003 and had a hand in producing four hip-hop albums. The first was Real Talk by East Coast hip-hop artist Fabulous in 2004 followed the same year with True Story by Terror Squad. During the next two years Khaled worked on the production of two Fat Joe albums, All or Nothing and Me, Myself & I. Khaled became the DJ for the Terror Squad.
