Cherish - Four Amazing Sisters

''Everyone in the industry has seen us grow up. Albeit young, they grasp that all experience-good or bad-generate growth. It was definitely a struggle, growing up in the music industry, but, we don't regret it."

Born of music, growing in music and the love of music seems to be what these four talented young ladies are all about. Moving through their too-sweet pop of the past and into the heart-felt R&B of style all their own has made Cherish a band to contend with.

Cherish - The Beginnings

Born of musical parents, in Maywood, Illinois, the oldest 2 sisters, Farrah (February 17, 1984), and Neosha (January 25, 1986), were still tots when they began singing. Their manager father once toured with Earth, Wind & Fire, legends of the past, and was involved with Professions of Sounds. After moving to Atlanta, Georgia, Felisha and Fallon (twins born June 5, 1987) came along to join their musical sisters. By virtue of genetics and life, the girls grew up with music as a large part of their lives. Cherish lays their love of R&B directly at their parents' door, calling Dad "old school". He taught the close knit sisters to harmonize as they grew and they loved singing songs by artists like Sister Sledge and En Vogue. By the time Farrah was eleven, Neosha 9 and the twins 7, the four sisters were following a dream and singing professionally as Cherish.

The Music

Cherish first began releasing singles in 2003, signed to Warner Brothers' Reprise Records. Their first, Miss P, featuring DaBrat, was written by Kandi, and produced by Jermaine Dupri. That year they also showed on DaBrat's In Luv wit Chu, and Powerpuff Girls: Power Pop, Chemical X, Me and My Girls, and Power of a Female. While their first studio album The Moment was recorded in that same year - it was shelved with no comment apparently ever given as to the reason why it was not released.

It took three years for Cherish to come back with their debut release Unappreciated which was almost entirely written by them. The dance hit single Do It to It featuring Sean Paul of the YoungBloodZ was released during the summer of 2006 and made it to #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and showed well on several other charts, while the single Unappreciated was the second single released and it charted across the board, doing best on the US R&B at #14. The album itself, released in August, 2006, Certified Gold, sold 91,000 copies and hit #4 on the Billboard 2000 making Cherish one of the few female albums to chart in the top five for over a year.

All Grown Up

It took two more years for the girls, admittedly from their own growing pains, to create and release their sophomore album The Truth. Young Joc is featured on Killa which was the first single release of the album and debuted in the Top 40 in the Pop Charts. Their growth from girls to young women shows up in this saga about love and resistance, life and living, and pour out The Truth in their hearts. Released May 13, 2008, Truth topped out at #6 on the US R&B while selling out at 30,000 copies. Amnesia was the second single release, which made #61 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, of the album the grown-up Cherish is so vehemently proud of.

Cherish made their movie debut appearing as the 'King Sisters' in the movie Caramel with Chris Brown and Lauren London which was to be released in February 2009. The single Infected, by Felisha and Fallon leaked on the internet in early 2009 began chatter of Cherish breaking up which has been denied by both girls on their Facebook pages. Both sisters write of the work that Cherish is doing on their third album Breakthrough which was to be released on late 2009 but wasn't actually released until February 2010.
