Bryan Guy Adams was born n Kingston, Ontario, Canada, on November 5, 1959. He spent most of his time in Birre, Portugal. When he was when he was fifteen, his family moved to Canada. It was during high school that Adams knew that he wanted to create his own music. He later joined some of the local the local band, Sweeny Todd; with Adam as the lead singer, released If Wishers Were Horses. While working with these bands, he honed his songwriting and singing skills and in 1978, he recorded a demo and sent it to A&M Records. He later signed a songwriting contract and recorded songs like, “I’m Ready,” Let Me Take You Dancing,” and “Remember.”
Music Career
Two years after signing with A&M Records, Adams released his self-titled debut album. This album went gold within months of its release. Since then he has released more than 10 studio albums, 4 live albums, 4 compilation albums, and countless songwriting credits and royalties. His studio albums include: You Want It You Got It (1981), Cuts Like a Knife (1983), Reckless (1984), Into the Fire (1987), Waking Up the Neighbors (1991), 18 til I Die (1996), On a Day Like Today (1998), Room Service (2004), a he released, 11, his last studio album in 2008. Adams most successful album to date is Reckless, with a duet with the famous singer, Tina Turner, songs like, “Run to You” and “Heaven.” This album was not only nominated for multiple awards, but officially has gone platinum five times.

Bryan Adams has been nominated for more than 50 different awards over the span of is career. He is known as the Canada’s best selling male artist, selling more than 75 million records worldwide and he is the only Canadian male artist to sell 1 million albums. Adams won a Grammy Award for “Everything I Do, I Do It for You,” for Best Song Written for Motion Picture or Television, in 1992. He has written songs for artists, including: Jim Vallance, Rod Stewart, Carly Simon, and Kiss, just to name a few.
In 1998, he was inducted to the Canadian Walk of Fame and Music Hall of Fame. That same year, he was accepted to the Order of British Columbia and the Order of Canada for his many contributions to the music industry. Throughout his entire career, Adams has one more than 15 Juno Awards and sold more than 30 millions singles worldwide. In 2007, Adams was nominated for a Golden Globe for his songwriting efforts and collaborations with Mary J. Blige and Aretha Franklin for the movie, Bobby. He was also been nominated for an Academy Award for music for this film more than 3 times.

Not only is he an accomplished singer/songwriter, but Adams is also a well-known photographer. He has published several books of photos and has had his works published in Vanity Fair, Vogue, Esquire, and Harper’s Bazaar, just to name a few. In 2002, he was asked to take photos of Queen Elizabeth II, during the Golden Jubilee celebration. One of the photographs taken by Adams was commissioned as a postage stamp for Canada in 2004 and 2005.
