Bruce Springsteen was born in the town of Long Branch New Jersey. He would attend high school in the same town and go on to pursue a musical career later on in his life although he would buy his first guitar at the age of thirteen. In high school, he was said to be somewhat of an outsider and later said that he really did not enjoy school. He wanted to play guitar and eventually, he would make that dream come true in the form of a reality even he could sometimes not believe.
Early Fight For Success
Although Bruce Springsteen would start his career in music very early, he would find the road a hard one and go in and out of bands for his first few years. In the early 1960’s he found a place in the band called Earth that was playing in clubs around the state of New Jersey. After leaving the band, he would with the band called Steel Mill, which featured music legends such as Steve Van Zandt and would gain some critical acclaim for the San Francisco Examiner.
All the while he was performing with Steel Mill, he was also playing solo around some of the smaller clubs In the Asbury Park and Jersey Shore sector where he would gain a small cult following of his music. He would eventually gain a break after he formed the Bruce Springsteen Band in the early 1970’s. He would meet John Hammond of Columbia Records who would later gain him the audition of his musical career.
Gaining Ground
Bruce Springsteen would ink a deal with Columbia Records with the help of John Hammond. Bringing many of his associates in to the recording studio with him, Springsteen and his cohorts formed the E Street Band and released their debut album in 1973. The album gained a little critical acclaim from his poetic lyricism and the group went on to produce another album called The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle.
He would then go on to release the famous album called Born to Run, which is said to have taken over fourteen months to create. Springsteen would go on to perform many live concerts for the people around New Jersey and would finally convince the many rock critic skeptics that Bruce Springsteen was here to stay. In 1975, he would go on to appear on the covers of both Time magazine as well as Newsweek heralding him as the up and coming king of rock n’ roll.
He would be embroiled in a legal battle with an earlier manager, but would eventually get back to the studio in 1977 to produce the album Darkness On the Edge of Town, which has been acclaimed by many has his best album that was ever released due to the fact that one can actually see the artist maturing over the last album to this album and forming very valid opinions to what was actually going on in the world.
The New Decade
Going in to the 1980’s, Springsteen would begin his first extensive tour of Europe. He had been to the continent to tour before but had not done a tour of nearly as many venues as he now had scheduled. After coming back to the United States, he would go on to release the album called Born in the USA. The album would sell over fifteen albums in the United States and be one of the best selling rock n’ roll albums of all time.
The album would also afford one of the most successful album tours of all time where he packed venues and sold out shows throughout the United States. He would go on to be one of the most successful rock n’ roll musicians of all time. His many fans can find some of his music as free music downloads or at minimum available for internet screening.
