The band first started as an Alt rock outfit in 1992 in the state of Pennsylvania. The original band featured Jimmy Pop and Daddy Long Legs. The changed their name to Bloodhound Gang as a reference to a kids show. The band started to perform at the famed underground punk rock place at the Bowery in Manhattan. In 1994 they got their first recording contract with Cheese Factory Records. After releasing several EPs the band moved into the studio to record their first album.
