Mexican Born

The group that was born in the state of Jalico Mexico and known throughout the country as Banda Machos would form in the year of 1990 when they would begin bringing their large sound throughout the countryside. Twelve young boys from the town of Villa Corona would form the group and go on to release their first few albums in the early 1990's on cassettes, which were a popular music format of that time.

Winding UP

The group would come together and release their first full length studio album called Serian Las Dos. It would be made up of mostly songs called rancheras and corridos, which was a popular musical format in that time in Mexico. They would tour in support of their newly released albums but not have much acclaim. This would prompt the group to go back into the studio to release their next album called Casimira.

They would have one major hit from the album called Traficantes Michoacanos, which would resonate throughout the country of Mexico. They were poised for their big breakthrough that was just right around the corner. They would go on to release their next full length studio album, which would prove to be the cornerstone of their career in the fact that it would gain them not only success in their native country of Mexico but cast them into the spotlight in many other Latin American countries as well.

Winding Out

Using a catch phrase in many of their songs such as Arre Machos, the group would go on to release a similar studio album in 1992 called Con Sangre De Indio, which would contain the single Al Gao Y Al Raton. This would prove to be the break through that the group needed to cast them into international fame and the group would go on tour in many other Latin American countries from the onset of the album. After their tour, they would go back into the studio to release their fourth studio album called Los Machos Tambien Lloran.

The album would contain many songs that would be top charting hits in their country of Mexico and filter over into the United States to become hits in the Latin communities as well. The album was said to display the group's unique sense of style where it showed the many different costumes they would wear while performing.

During this time, the group would end up experiencing some changes to their lineup when their lead singer would leave, return a few years later, then leave once more, this time for good. During the early 1990's the group would begin to receive many awards for their Latin contributions in the music industry. They would be voted best Mexican band in the year of 1993 and be featured in a movie in 1995 called My Family that was produced by Francis Ford Coppola.

They would release numerous other albums that would solidify their fan base and increase the size of the venues that they would play at. They would start their touring throughout Mexico as well as embarking on a tour in the United States.
