Aventura- The Latin Beat

Aventura- Taking their Chance

Rather than take the route of other bachata groups, Aventura started their career playing for a specialized fan base which consisted of their friends and other young people instead of the Dominican audience. The group, for which they played, was composed of children of immigrants who had grown up in the United States and spoke English more so than Spanish.

They signed to BMG and released their debut album with an outside producer. However the material was created by everyone in the circle. The group wanted to avoid becoming a cookie-cutter boy band like the Backstreet Boys and to ensure the bachata component remained dominant. They released their first album Trampa de Amor. The local success of the group caught the eye of producer Julio Cesar of Premium and they were signed to a long-term record deal. They then released their first studio album Generation Next, in 1999, which featured "Cuando Volerias" the hit single. This song introduced the singing style in Spanish and English.

Though it received little initial promotion, the group's music made it big after their follow up release of We Break the Rules in 2002, featuring their hit single "Obesesion." It reached top spots of international charts and in the summer of 2002, it played constantly in New York on Latino stations, which caused the single to be a hit in the United States.

Continued Road to Success

New York's radio stations started to promote their third album Love & Hate in March 2003, after the success of "Obsesion". Love & Hate gained notoriety after "Hermanita" when it was released in the year 2004. On the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks, it reached number thirty three.

In early 2005, the group returned with their next single "La Boda". God's Project was released in April 2005 and the album was highly recognized during the year up till 2006, with the singles "Ella y Yo" and "Un Beso". October 19, 2006 "Los Infieles" was released and featured two months later on the next album K.O.B Live. "Mi Corazoncito", the second single was one of the group's most successful singles when it peaked at Number 1 on Hot Latin Tracks. The third single "El Perderdor" also topped at Number 1 on various charts.

For their upcoming album The Last, promotion started in January 2009 with the release of their first single "Por un Segundo". On the Hot Latin Tracks in late January, it reached Number 1. June 5th the second single "All Up 2 You", featured known names in the music industry such as Wisin, Yandel and Akon. On June 9, 2009 The Last was finally released by Aventura.
