The Attack!

A Metalcore band from Ohio has made a name for them with gut wrenching power and creative production. But it is often the goofy lyrics and bizarre song titles which still give them the high school image. The band has released one album and an EP. Constantly hampered by line-up changed their new album Shazam is eagerly awaited in 2010. The theme in the music and lyrics is often about the Christian religion, but any labeling of the band as a Christian Metal band is vehemently denied by the band.

The Formation

The formation of the band can be traced to 2005; the band was formed by Austin Carlile, Nick White, Riicky Lortz, Andrew Whiting and Andrew Wetzel. They added another member who would take care of the synthesizer and therefore Caleb Shomo joined.

The band played in colleges and local events but before they signed to any record label or record an official demo, Nick White decided to leave the band to focus on his education. John Halgado replaced him on bass and the band recorded their first demo. They released their first EP titled "If Guns are Outlawed can't we Bring Knives". The metal core sound of the band was taking shape as they used a lot of synth and sampling in their production. The band self-released it as they had not yet signed to a label.

Record Deal and First Album

By June of 2008 they signed a recording contract with Rice Records and immediately released their first album Someday Came Suddenly. The album charted and peaked at No. 193 on the mainstream Billboard US charts. It was also No.25 on the Billboard Independent albums. The album sold almost 5,000 units in its first week.

The Warped Tour

Austin Carlile one of the founders and songwriters of the band departed. The rest of the band took a vote and he was actually asked to leave because of his behavior and

Creative differences. The band had to unfortunately take the decision while touring in support of the album. The tour was an opening act slot for Maylene and the Sons of Disaster. The band replaced Austin with Nick Barham

In 2009 they recorded a cover of Kate Perry's song "I kissed a girl" for a Punk compilation. This was Austin's last record with the band as he recorded the screams before he left. The band went on an extensive tour along with several other Metalcore and punk core bands like William Control, Black Tide and Burn Halo. Attack Attack made a huge breakthrough when they were part of the Warped Tour for 2009. The band while on the Warped Tour even played a charity gig called Music Saves Life. As part of the concert the band met with a group of fans who had donated blood.

Line up Changes Continues

They released a music video for MTV2 Headbangers Ball. The video was heavily criticized for its silly head butting. The video seemed like a group of people had been nailed to a board. In Oct 2009 it was announced that Nick Barham was leaving the band. The timing again was quite unfortunate as it was on the eve of their first headlining tour. The band has been playing a new song titled "Sexual man Chocolate". A studio version of has been released on the band's MYSpace.com page.

In 2010, they plan to release a new album, tentatively titled "Shazam". The band also go in for a full fledged headlining tour "Artery Across the Nation Tour" with support acts I See Stars, Asking Alexandria and Breathe Carolina. The band style of music has been very much metal core and influenced by the likes of Limp Bizkit and Staind.

The band connects a lot with their fans from their MYSpace.com page. They often release new music on their MYSpace.com page
