The band has released over 20 studio albums in a span of 35 years selling almost 15 million copies world wide.

Initially they started as a five piece band but over the course of their history several musicians have come and gone but the duo of Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock remain together forming the core of the band. The band seem to be one of the most watched live acts as they are on tour several dates every year; having a global fan following from Singapore to Boston, from London to Sydney they have played several arenas and stadiums alike. A major fan following in South East A sia, they have toured these parts extensively.

Jesus Christ Super Star

Russell Hitchcock hails from Melbourne, Australia was working in a computer company after getting a promotion he moved to Sydney. In 1975, while in Sydney is asked his girlfriend who could sing quite well to audition for the Australian production of the Andrew Lloyd Webber's iconic Jesus Christ Superstar. Not only did she get the part but as history would have it, Russell met Graham Russell.

By the end of 1975 along with some other personnel they had formed their own band Air Supply. By 1976 they released two albums which briefly charted in Australia. They toured small venues in Sydney and some other parts in Australia. Their third album "Love and Other Business" released in 1976 as well, was their first hit in Australia peaking at No.2 on the charts. In '79 they released "Life Support" but it did not get them the international breakthrough they wanted.

Making it Big

It was their 1980 album that would give them their international breakthrough. "Lost In Love" with its massive two singles which would be their signature tunes - "Lost in Love" and "All out of Love". The music was simple and melodic; the song writing about unrequited love is considered one of the best of its era. The song is on the Top 100 VH1 Love Songs of all times. The band went on a US tour of selected cities and started to quickly record the follow-up. Released in 1981 "The One that You Love" surpassed the success of the previous release and was their biggest hit. The album reached No. 10 on the US charts, largely due to the massive chart topping title song.

In 1982, the success continued with the release of "Now and Forever". In 1983, the band released a "Greatest Hits" album which was phenomenally successful in the US due to their collaboration with music arranger and producer Jim Steinman who is known for signature epic treatment of love songs. The single "Making Love out of Nothing" sounds entirely different in its production style from the rest of the Air Supply songs. Its grandiose rock-opera style production ensured the album sold 5 million copies.

The Latter Years

After a very successful tenure of hits the band decided to take a break and Russell Hitchcock released a solo album. Though out the 80s the band released albums but the commercial success and critical acclaim started to fade. In 1991, the band returned with "The Earth Is
