California Born
The hard core rock group A Skylit Drive Was formed in the town of Lodi, California by a group of teenagers in high school together. The members Cory La Quay, Matt Mingus were both original to the group. They would release a few EP’s and go on tour to support their releases.
Jump Start
The group A Skylit Drive released their first EP called She Watched the Sky in the late winter of 2007 on the record label Tragic Hero. After releasing the EP, the band would go on tour with other up and coming rock n’ roll groups such as Kids Scaring Kids, Four Letter Lie, Oh Sleeper, and many others. One of the original members of the band, Jordan Blake, would have to leave the group in the middle of this tour in November of 2007 due to stomach ulcers affecting his voice and the band had to get a stand in to finish their sets.
The band was able to produce a full length album called Wires…And the Concept of Breathing in May of 2008. The album would eventually gain ground to number one seventy one on the Billboard 200 as well as gain the attention of independent release charts, which it would make number nine position of Heatseekers Chart later that year. The band would go on to tour to support the album with other young groups of the day such as Breathe Carolina and Sky Eats Airplane.
Videos
The group would go on to release a music video titled Let Go of the Wires on December 9 of 2008. They would release another video for the single Wires and the Concept of Breathing which can be viewed on their MySpace website and some of their other songs may also be available as free music downloads or internet screening. The new age store Hot Topic would exclusively release the DVD titled Let Go of the Wires along with live performances at a show in the venue, the Glasshouse in Panoma. The band would later gain some attention from the rock n’ roll world by going on the Warped Tour of 2009 and would also appear for their fans at the Hot Topic store in Montclair, California shortly before the tour started.

It was stated on the band’s official website that their many adoring fans could expect an album later in 2009 that would be titled Glaciers although they would go on to say that the title Glaciers would not be the actual title and the name was still up for debate. They would later release a new single called Those Cannons Could Sink A Ship on the internet music download website iTunes. After some work, they eventually came out with their second full length album called Adelphia, which was released on June 9, 2009 and actually made it all the way to number sixty four on the Billboard 200.
The later would release a video for the album, which was directed by Spence Nicholson.
